Currently, Vision7 holds a number of patents or exclusive licenses in the fields of retroviral gene transfer, virology and gene therapy. In co-operation with a big German health care company, Vision7 is pioneering an innovative gene-therapeutic strategy in the treatment of AIDS. Another project on the improvement of suicide gene transfer technologies has been recently granted by the German Ministry for Education and Science (BMBF) within the BioProfile program (BioregioN).
